The short version: nothing you write in this app ever leaves your device. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no advertising.
What you write
Anything you type stays on your own device. If you leave a page without choosing Keep for my session, it is gone. If you choose Keep, it is stored in your web browser on that device only, so that you can bring it to a counselor, spiritual director, or trusted guide. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Because kept items live in your browser, clearing your browser’s history or website data will erase them, and they will not appear on another phone, computer, or browser. On iPhone, adding the app to your Home Screen helps keep them from being cleared automatically. You can remove any kept item at any time with Let this one go.
Files you save
When you save a lock screen image or a PDF of your session page, the file is created on your device and saved wherever you choose. We never receive a copy.
Sharing with someone
If you use Who knows you? to send a message, the app only prepares the text. You choose whether and how to send it, using your own messaging or email apps. Names you type there are never saved.
What others may see
Like any website, the service that hosts this app (Netlify) may keep standard technical records such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. The app’s lettering is loaded from Google Fonts, which means your device requests the font files from Google. Neither receives anything you write in the app.
